Common name  Chesterfield Skinks

Scientific Name Oligosoma salmon

Status: e.g at risk of extinction:they have a possible chance of living

because there may be less than 200 but there are most likely more than 100

so when they breed obviously more of their kind will be born and as long as no

predators get to them they should be fine because there small and hard to find.

Physical description:A Chesterfield skinks is a small lizard and has a very long tail

there like little snakes with legs they have a bit pattern on them as well most of

them look different to each other by that i mean they have different colours to each other

and they can all blend in with their surroundings

So it makes it harder for predator’s to find them the other reason

being that they are also 56 different species and they live in different areas.

Habitat (Location):west coast, Auckland New Zealand

Diet: it eats a small range of bugs or fruits like spiders, millipedes, crickets, termites, grasshoppers,

caterpillars, beetles, and beetle larvae. They may also consume snails, as well as small vertebrates

including frogs, smaller lizards, and newborn mice,slugs, cockroaches and Most skinks are active

during the day and prefer hanging out on the ground rather than climbing trees.

Reproduction cycle: Skinks give birth to live babies instead of eggs and they also give

birth from 3-4 babies every 2 years

Reasons for species are endangered: habitat loss,predators eating them, and human impact

Conservation measures (what is being done to protect this species):an intensive

and bait network within the fence will protect skinks from the occasional predator incursion.  

Future outlook:they may not go extinct for a while as long as two things happen.

They find more places to hide and reducing numbers of predatory mammals

then the chesterfield skinks should not go extinct for a while.

There are 56 different species of skinks.

 we had to wright a narrative about this picture and i havent gotten to the good parts yet

i hope you enjoy my story.

 

There was once a group of three kids who lived in the town ewufu it was a weird name and a small town so everyone knew each other. Any ways on with the story the three  boys would hang out together after and during school. They were the supposed nerds of the school they would get bullied but no matter what they would always stick together .Their names were Damien Hunter Reece and they built a tree fort in the middle of the woods. Damien got bored of only Reece Hunter so he said “we need a girl in the friend group”

Hunter responded “while no one wants to hang out with us so who do you have in mind”

Reece said “ OOOOOOO I THINK DAMIEN LIKES SOME ONE”

Damien responded “shut up”

Stuttering Hunter told them to stop, then Damien went to get some food and drinks from the shop so they could watch stranger things all night and Reece had a sugar rush and passed out, hunter stayed awake and watched movies Damien heard something outside, hunter had a butterfly knife and flipped it open in one swift motion Hunter jumped out of the tree house and screamed like a madman“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”. 

Jumping and turning to be aware of his surroundings Damien shook his head exhaling Damien jumped out and said to get the flashlight but hunter said “Why did you not get it” 

Damien didn't want to so he told Hunter to get it and hunter finally agreed and when he got it Damien screamed. Hunter turned the flashlight on and jumped out. He called for Damien but there was no response he heard something behind him he turned around “BOO”. 

Hunter jumped back in fear Damien laughing so hard he cried Damien fell back in laughter Hunter said “very funny” 

While brushing himself off but then they heard something Damien said “i know you got Reece to run around in the bushes” Damien looked in the tree house and saw Reece and he climbed up the ladder and locked the door the bushes had faster movement and hunter climbed the ladder and went on the roof of the tree house and entered the hatchet they made and then he slapped Damien. He forgot about the entry on the roof they stayed there till dawn they had 4 beds and even knew they were just a group of 3 there was a knock…. TO BE CONTINUED

this week we wrote a narrative it was about a young detective looking for a key and he got it as a gift and he needs to find it and after we wrote our story we peer edited it on Thursday we shared our story with someone and they reviewed it and commented what was wrong.

It had been three days since it had gone missing. One minute he had held it in his hand, the next it had vanished. How could it just have disappeared? It had been right in front of his eyes!

He had been warned about what would happen if he lost it. His mission had been to guard the key with his life, ever since they visited him last summer.

Adam had always had a detective’s instinct. They had told him as much. He had been chosen because he had certain skills, and he would need them more than ever now.

Only one clue had seemingly been left, which was sat on the living room table.

Holding the magnifying glass up to his eye, Adam began to investigate… he found himself in his dad’s room searching up and down side to side but nothing. He checked the toilet he found some hand or foot prints he couldn't identify. But it wasn't eany normal prints. His dad had a vent above his cupboard in his bathroom. It was big. He had to analyse it very well. It had some hair and Adam left it as a clue and took the piece of hair. He investigated the library his dad was reading his favourite book in “are you ok you look like you lost something”

 adams dad said “have you seen anything weird around here” 

Adam asked dad he replied “no” 

Dad had to leave for shopping. Adam was alone, the clue on the table he left to investigate a little more he went into the kitchen and found nothing. The lights dimmed a little bit and the house shook a little and Adam was very suspicious. He went into the power room and took a flashlight. It was pitch black, silence dripping water, a power box buzzing and a big room. The power room had the power box in it, some pipes and a lot of boxes. Adam went into the middle of the room there was a opening in the roof a big one Adam decided to climb into it he was crawling through the vents coughing and going blind from all the dust from his every move he found his way out so he could get a mask. He climbed down the ladder and heard something in the mountain of boxes he grabbed his X Ray vision goggles and searched. He looked very cautiously. “Whos there”

“Your worst nightmare” 

A demonic voice said “I know what you're looking for and to find it you have to look in the right places in the right time or you will not earn what you desire”

Adam ran up the stairs and shut the door. He went into the vent in his dads room with a mask and a flashlight. He shut the vent behind him.

this week we had to do some narrative writing we had to do a brain storm then post it to our blog then we can do the real writing i have mine all planed out.

one day under the flying car’s Gerald and his little brother James were going to the stores to get their parents bread milk and a drink. Gerald and James were walking down the road when James saw something shiny in the alleyway behind the fence james told gerald but he said “we’ll check if its still there when we get back” they bought the things and walked the same way “IT’S STILL THERE” james shouted he ran down the alleyway and jumped the fence “don’t do that again if i lose you mum & dad will kill me” Gearld said out of breath james was amazed “IT'S A STAR IT”S A STAR WE FOUND A STARRRRRRR. “Keep it down it's probably just plastic ” gerald touched it “OWW it just burnt me” gerald said. Then he said something and it really happened. “I wish this star wasn't so hot” james shouted “ i want to touch it” gerald said no but james didn't listen then he held it and he wasn't burning his hand.

They walked home after putting it in their bag, after getting home, they went home and went into the garage and pulled out the star Gerald wonders why it stop burning then james said “I wish we had a bag of chips and a big drink” it appeared then Gerald said “let's dig a hole and put it in the backyard it's bad wishing for things that we need but we cant let people know we have this as well, James didn't want to but then during the night Gerald snuck out and rode his bike far away and dug a hole then buried it the next morning came around and James was sad he didn't talk to anyone. Gerald went back to get the star but instead he found thousands of clouds going up he dug up the star and got it the clouds disappeared and he wished them back he got James and showed him the clouds. They climbed up the clouds james tried eating the clouds he couldn't but when they got near space they couldn't breath so gerald quiqly wished to be able to breathe any wear.

this term we started off the day with our team assembly we talked about the language week. Then we got into our bg lines and walked to assembly and sat down our theme for this year is life’s a stage. We are going to be dancing and doing drama but in the assembly mr somerville came in the hall with a motorbike it was cool we sang our is it kind is it true is it necessary. Then more teachers and teams did more plays and stuff it was cool there was a toy shop interview for our production last term there was transformers and teddy bear there was Woody from Toy story bo peep from Toy story and the shop owner then they danced off stage. There was a superhero and 2 people with masks i'm pretty sure it was expressing feelings in a show and our teachers did an island dance then did some use to be and are trending now

 2099 goldberg, there where 3 boys Jimmy, Gerald, Sneff they where the smartest kids to ever live they would act like them normal selves though. They act stupid but there really smart wierd funny and more but when they said they would get something done they would get it done like bulding an army of little robots that listen to there every comand but 2 weeks later they receved an email form the FBI and it said “this is a message to Sneff Gerald and Jimmy we need you to make us a giant robot we need it to go into sapce and make peace with the aliens we made angry. Something bad could happen so please make one” the 3 boys decided to make one but the FBI said robot not suit. It took them 3 months to build but they got it done they tried to turn it on but nothing happened and sneff thought he put the wires so he went and checked they were in the wrong places he put them in to the right place and then the robot turns on and sneff fell in a fright but he pulled some wires loose the robot twitched its eyes turned red and it blasted through the roof and went on a rampage sneff gerald and jimmy knew making that was a mistake it started to talk “my name is number 28 and i can't go down that easy so try me” then it went back to destroying the town everyone was screaming and running but then it rememberd who was its creator and then he saw them holding an emergency shut down button it ran all the way home (the garage) and nearly squeezing them stomped on the button and chased. Them they ran into a burger shop they hid behind the counter jimmy looked at gerald and gerald looked at  sneff he was eating a burger gerald smacked it out of his and and said “dude you gonna eat and a time like this” sneff grabbed another burger and with a mouth full of burger he mumbled “stress eating man it helps” they heard the robot it had used it’s shrinking mode and turned  small and it bursts through the door and the wires all come out and it shuts off the 3 boys shouted harry everyone was calling them heroes they buried the number 28 and they lived happily ever after

Information 2nd element Idea 2	If they got loose they could go to schools and destroy it and kill a lot of people they could do the same to company's and other places to and it could be really really bad it could destroy our world possibly.
Information 3rd element Idea 3	They could again get loose but go somewhere and we can't find it and then it could kill a whole spices and or more than 1 whole spices so it could be really really dangerous.
Information 4th element Idea 4	But if we did and they breaded with another spices for some reason they could make a new spices and then we would have more animals but scientist would have to
Conclusion There you have it - 4 reasons as to -why -that will help you -for you to try...

persuasive school hour writing

FIRSTLY: I think we should get a shorter day of school why you must ask yourself, we need to get more sleep so we focus better in class, so we don't miss any instructions and don’t fall asleep so if we get more sleep we focus don't fall asleep during class so we can get more work done and also get it posted on our blogs .




SECOND: if you wake up and try to find your uniform but someone moved it so you have to try and find it. You ask them and they don’t know where they put it then once you find you uniform you have to get changed get your lunch brush your teeth then get to school and then your late and get in trouble and probably get in trouble so then you got late because you couldn't find your uniform .





THIRD: if you have to do something for someone and it takes a while you could be late. It could be washing the dishes or taking your sibling to kindy and they could take forever to get ready then once you drop them off and get to school then your late and you get rethink or detention for being late cause what would happen if it happens to many times.





FOURTH: Your mum/dad could have to go to work and you have to drop your brother/sister off to kindy so you take a while to get to their kindy and when you do you realize the time and then you're late then you get in big trouble and you try to tell the teacher but they don't believe you so you get rethink and that goes on for awhile then you get detention then you get in trouble by your perants





CONCLUSION: So that's why i STRONGLY agree to why we all should have shorter school days instead of normal school days because you could get in trouble for the right reason sometimes or be late so everyone should have a shorter school day.

Wildlife

In Australia the wild life is cool but it’s quite hot there, I go there to visit my dad but any way. Some of the lizards are quite small but some are big, there was this one time we came back from the pool’s and there was a giant lizard above the door my aunty said to ignore it. On our way in it hissed at me and my cousin ran in and my aunty was laughing at us and my cousin started laughing too, what's the biggest wildlife you've encountered.





Food’s

In Australia they have some different stuff to New Zealand. Sometimes for dinner we would have KFC sometimes my nana would make us some noodles or prawns or taro or maybe both it was the best and when my nana went to the doctors we would get subway for lunch and wait in the car.And one time in the morning me and my cousin where home alone because my dad and nana and aunty went to the red bank plaza for some stuff, they asked us if we wanted to come we said “no” and when they came back they got us pancakes from Mcdonalds, what's your favorite food.





Places

There is a plaza in Australia called the red bank plaza, its really cool it has 3 floors, once on the ground level there where these things that were hanging and spinning around it looked really cool. When they were in a certain position it would form a picture.There was this other time when me and my cousin went to watch trolls at the movies, when we got to the counter we bought our tickets and when we went to get them stamped the guy who stamped them had an earring that made a big hole in his ear but he was nice, then before we got into the movie my cousin needed to go to the toilet and he took a while then we got to the movie. Me and my cousin got to the red bank plaza and we had money for the arcade me and my cousin went to the claw machine it was rigged and my cousin doubted me and i got a frog in a magician hat my cousin said “nice” then after a while we were done and my aunty said to just wait at the bus stop when where done. we found a trolli so we started jumping in it and pushing each other down the hill i nearly made my cousin hit the lamp lucky i stopped it before it did he laughed my aunty picked us and we went home. The best thing about going to Australia is seeing my family when I get to the airport the employee takes us around to try and find the people who pick us up when my dad picks me up we normally go to his wife's house or my nana's house and I also get to see my little brothers it’s really cool i like seeing my nana and my aunt and uncles and one of my favorite cousins he is really cool we normally play wrestling and stuff it's really fun sometimes when there's nothing to do my dad normally takes me and my brothers or me and my cousin out we would do something like go to the park or my dad would give us money and drop us off at the plaza and say what time he would be back and me and my cousin would just be us and do some stuff. africa has lots of animals. But some of them are endangered it is sad because the animals could go extinct and people kill elephants for their tusks. now some of them are born without tusks so people cant kill them because they have no tusks they wanted for the tusks for ivory. \Ivory i think is rare and can get you a lot of money if you sell it.

7.14 botswana pula is the same amount of money which is $1.00 in New Zealand. $20.64 is 147.20 in botswana pula and $500.0 is 3565.90 in botswana pula there money will always be ahead of what we have

The most popular sport in Botswana is football, other sports they play are cricket, tennis, softball, badminton, golf and last of all track and field the reason Botswana likes football so much is because the british influence

there was once two boys named Logan and Jake they were really mean to everyone and did not like anyone they stole they bullied they even stole a purse and they are now sneaking onto a airplane and karma was waiting for the perfect time to strike and the plane crashed they were on a island they did not find anyone they yelled they searched but nothing they found a couple of crates and it had food and water in it. it could last them 5 or 6 months. They had to make there own shelter Logan made a little hut and Jake made a big hut so they slept in Jake’s hut for the night. the next morning they heard a laugh and “Logan… LOGAN” said Jake. Jake was scared then jake realized that logan was not next to him so jake peeked outside he was scared it was one of the 7 deadly sins it was envy and then he saw that monster staring right at him then it started running at him he closed the tent and he felt a bit of wetness crawl down his back he looked up and he saw greed above him greed ate Jake. Jake woke up from a horrible dream and screamed witch woke up Logan so logan knocked out jake so he could go back to sleep when jake woke up it was morning for real. he saw Logan cooking fish for breakfast “dude i made some spears and kife’s do you want some fish” said Logan




“Thanks for the weapons and for the fish” he caught a really really big snapper he made 2 knife’s and some spears he made 2 of each so they could protect themselves if there was animales, so they ate there fish and explored they got to a 2 way path it said the left was dangerous and the right was safe Jake wanted to stay safe and Logan wanted some action so Logan went left and Jake went right. When Jake got half way down he heard some noises and was very scared and he came across a beautiful lake and he saw a bunny rabbit he said

“hey buddy what are you doing out here”, then he ran because the rabbit was a monster it ate 3 whole trees and meanwhile Logan was trying to find monsters and dangerous things to fight but he didn't and sat on a rock waiting for something to happen but nothing so he got bored and they both went to back to the plane and jake was running and screaming and logan was walking bordley saw a communicator and it was still working. Logan called someone and said to them “hello.. Hello”




“Who are you and where are you” said the person on the other side of the communicator




“Where stuck on a island can you help us”




“Sure well try and track you down” then 3 hours later a plane came and saved them but then the same thing happened a bunch of time and when they finally got home after 2 months of it happening they got arrested for everything they done but the only thing they were happy about was 3 meals a day and a roof over their head but they were going to a high tech security prison that no one can get in or out . Today we were going to a Orchestra i think i'm going to see a mime you may already know what a mime is.  It is that thing in black and white and makes invizable boxes.

But i was wrong. we saw a play it was called kiwi kapers. It was about queen in the forest and scary music.  a evil fairy with hula hoop came the queen got captured she was on a hula hoop and a man came and save the girl with a giant hula hoop he done cool tricks.he went in circles while inside of the hula hoop.

On Monday we went to the immersion assembly. First we started off with a song called MUSICAL MADNESS from the principal and some teachers. During the song there was a drum. Mr Somerville did the drum solo and it was cool. After the song, Mr J started talking in scottish then he showed a video of his cousin playing in a pipe band.

I don’t feel excited about this term because we have to learn about music and make music i'm not that good at making music.

last Thursday we went on to a bus to stardom. it took for long to get to stardom but i wanted to stay in the bus it was warm when we go   out we had to  wait 10 minute$ until seven o’clock and then one of the teachers went in and came out and told us we can go in. we went in I give it a 5/10 because there wasn't much fun stuff but we had to do this thing as a team we had to find out stuff about planets.  we had score ratings I didn't  know and i dont'e no how much we got but after that we sat down and then the man that got us to do told us to

Go into a theater and look up the seats where there was this colourful thing changing colour and then this movie started we had seen the trailer at school before it was a cool movie then the man gave us all  a free ticket to stardom and then we had got back from stardom it was

Lunch time then after it ended we had our program it is cool and then we got back at  2:56 and then 4 minute$ later it was home time He told us that the moon is bigger than Australia
